Arrival Information

Means of arrival
For those of you who come by train, there will be volunteers waiting for you at Besancon Viotte Railway Station from 8am to 6pm on the 20th of March. Then, you'll be guided to your hotel, after that you will be registered as an AGM participant (AGM welcome pack). Those who will come by car are welcomed in one of our hotels (which can be be different from the hotel you will be staying in). The hotel is the Novotel of Besançon, situated on 22 bis, rue de Trey; in order to reach the exact location by car click here for explanation.
AGM badge
For registration on 20th March, please bring your ESN card with you ! The ESN card will be included into your AGM badge, if you forget it you will have to buy one for 10€ and in this case bring also a photo (25x20mm). The AGM badge give you entrance to each AGM event, so don't loose it. If this happen, you have to buy another one (amount: 10€), since the entrance is controlled to each AGM event.
People arriving before 20th March
The OC won't be able to welcome them. Book the hotel by yourself, food and other stuff is also on your charge. Here is the website of a hotel situated just in front of the Rail Station "Etaphotel". People who arrive before the official start af AGM 2008 are not allowed to participate to the pre AGM CNR, only people on the official list are allowed to do so.

Hotels

There are five different hotels, you'll randomly attributed to these hotels, you can only chose your roommate. The rooms are either double or triple. Hotels can provide you with shower gel and shampoo. The breakfast will be taken between 7.30am and 8.15am, time to leave for AGM activities is 8.30am.

If you cause any kind of damages in your hotel or in your room (the loss of your keycard for your room included) this is your own responsibility. The OC is not responsible for any kind of these damages.

Programme

Erasmus Parade and Opening Ceremony
As we have already mentioned, during the parade you have to be as coloured and as noisy as possible, you have to bring flags and gadgets or materials, national T-shirts etc which can best make you visible. Still, keep in mind that you will not have the time to change between the parade and the opening ceremony, so try to wear casual clothes. It's up to you to find suitable combination of clothes to wear both to the parade and to the opening ceremony.
Erasmus night
The Erasmus night will take place in various locations in Besancon, each place with its specific music and its specific atmosphere. The idea is for everybody to see the atmosphere in each bar and the to choose one to spend their night. We see it as a very dinamic evening, so take some clothes and shoes that are fit for walking!
Eurodinner and Euroconcert
For the Eurodinner, all the food that you will bring will be stored in the refrigerator. You will not have the possibility to warm the food and you will not be allowed to have any warming materials in the Eurodinner place. The Eurodinner and the Euroconcert will take place in the same location, Micropolis Besancon. The participants will get there by bus. As for the dressing code, casual clothes will be perfect.

Smoking and alcohol

AGM 2008 is a no smoking event. Also, as you might know, starting with January 1st smoking in bars or other public places is forbidden in France. We kindly ask smokers to remember this. The fine for smoking in public spaces is 65€. Another point is that drinking alcohol outside in the streets of Besançon is also forbidden, please make party inside !

Currency

The present currency in France is the Euro. If you want to exchange money, we advise you to do it in your country or in a bigger city in France rather than in Besancon. Of course, you can find exchange offices in Besancon as well, but it is easier to find one in a bigger city or in your country.

Responsibility during AGM

AGM-participants commiting any kind of crime during AGM 2008, or misbehaving towards AGM participants, AGM OC or local inhabitants (even under influence of alcohol or drugs) will be excluded from AGM 2008.

AGM2008 public communication

In Prague we promised interaction with local inhabitants, for that we prepared a huge advertising campaign, promoting three public events: ESN parade, the Erasmus night in the city centre, and the Infomarket. So be prepared to see the following poster in the city for your AGM :)
